ARCA is the second oldest sanctioning body in stock car racing in the United States dating back to 1953 and founded by John Marcum. ARCA's competitors contain a mix of both professional racers as well as hobby racers alike, in addition to younger competitors trying to make a name for themselves, in the past seasons it has become the highest level development series for NASCAR teams looking to develop talent in the big cars. The ARCA Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards runs the same car run by NASCAR before moving to the COT, with Hoosier Tires and a 1/2 inch taller rear spoiler. Most recently drivers such as Scott Speed, Justin Allgaier, Michael McDowell, Parker Kligerman, Sam Hornish, Juan Pablo Montoya and many other NASCAR drivers have competed in the series to hone their skills.
